Before I get into shop news, I need to do a little housekeeping! I believe my last newsletter was sent during the 2022 holiday season, and due to so many new subscribers (hello! welcome!) signing up this year, I have exceeded the numbers allowed by MailChimp (unless I want to pay $$$). Long story short, I decided to move my mailing list over to Substack, which is why the format of this message may look different to you! If you don’t like this new format, or wish to unsubscribe, you can find a link at the bottom of this email.
On to the news!
At the beginning of May I closed my Fantasy/Middle Earth Collection to new orders. Due to a few viral videos across TikTok and Instagram during March and April I gained over 20k new followers and also many new orders! Closing for the past 4 weeks has allowed me to focus solely on my open orders.
That being said, it’s time for me to re-open the Fantasy Shop! All of the suncatchers and ornaments from Rivendell, Lothlórien, the Shire, Erebor, Gondor and Rohan will be available again, though in limited quantities (to manage your wait time once you place an order), on Monday 29th May at noon EST.
For anyone new here, or anyone who hasn’t placed an order with me before, I make all of my pieces to order. The only exceptions are one-of-a-kind pieces under the “Ready to Ship” category on my site. So when I re-open my Fantasy Collection the “stock” listed will not be for items that are already made, there will still be a waiting time on your order, which is how I’ve always handled new orders.
I will update my FAQs on the 29th with my current shipping lead-times for orders placed *on or after May 29th*. Orders placed in April should still add 6 weeks to their order date for an approximation of the shipping time.
This definitely feels like a more admin-y newsletter, so let’s talk about some fun stuff too!
A few days before I closed the Fantasy Collection I released two new Middle Earth inspired designs for Gondor and Rohan! The design for Gondor, the Realm of Kings Suncatcher (above), is inspired by the crown of the King, in grey glass detailed in silver, with a tree symbolizing the White Tree handmade from wire at the center. Above and below are two roundels made from a white wispy stained glass and inlaid with two more star bevels. The smaller ornament version features the roundel.
The Riders Suncatcher is inspired by the kingdom of Rohan. The central motif is a horse's head with flowing mane, and above and below are my interpretations of the white Simbelmynë flowers that grow upon the graves and tombs in the Mark. The ornament version of the Riders Suncatcher features the green glass round with handpainted flowers.
So as to not ignore the oliphant in the room, I’m sure more than some will be disappointed that the Shards of Narsil and Sword of No Man will not be available yet in this drop. I am still working on my original pre-orders for both swords, so cannot at this time conscionably take on another pre-order. I am hoping that by the end of June I will be able to do so, but I will send out another newsletter before that happens!
Thank you again so much for all your patience and support over the past few months. It’s been exhilarating and creatively inspiring. I have a lot planned for the rest of the year and I hope you enjoy following my journey in all the regular places!
See you Monday!
